狼人的由來

現代西方世界的傳奇大多是源自於歐洲，其中最廣為人知的一個就是狼人的故事。這些不幸的人們獸化成兩腿人立的狂狼，嗜食生肉和鮮血，每逢月圓時他們就會對著滿月狂嚎。在著名的童話「小紅帽」中，那頭會化妝成奶奶，可以人立講話的大野狼就正是狼人在人們心中所留下的陰影。
西元1216年，10月19號，英格蘭國王約翰‧雷克蘭（John Lackland）被一名僧侶下毒，最後不治死亡。據信這毒藥中包含了狼頭草，亦即是中毒者將會化身成狼人。不久之後，人們聽見他的墓穴中傳來了各種各樣的嚎叫聲，恐懼的居民們將屍體拖出，任其腐爛。但是，不久之後，就有人聲稱看見化為狼人的國王在森林之中遊走。除了這個案例之外，有時普通人也可以藉由取得附有魔法的狼皮而獲得化身為狼的能力。狼人也可以透過咬噬受害者而讓對方也成為狼人。
如何辨別狼人呢？據說他們的手掌心會長出毛髮，眉毛會在眉心聚合，犬齒則是異常的發達，雙耳末端較尖，並且指向腦後，手指也比一般人要長。如果你身邊有這樣的人，請千萬小心了！
至於殺死狼人的方法則並不多，由於狼人擁有動物的敏銳反射神經、強大的再生能力，一般相信只有銀製的武器或子彈才能夠消滅他們。而且，他們的屍體必須要用沸水燙過，或是直接燒毀，這樣才能避免他們變成吸血鬼。
