老美台客大不同
在八年級開學初，班上一位同學便轉學至美國讀書。在她到了美國後，我仍以line和她聯絡，話題中不乏許多對美國念書環境和風俗的疑惑。非常幸運的，剛好在她去美國大約一個禮拜後，英資有了這樣的課程—文化講座【美國】。來自美國的保羅以一張張的照片帶出美國人文風情，其中我對每個學生都擁有的「置物櫃」和自行選課排課的教學方式感到非常羨慕。美國是以學生自主為重，所以擁有排課自主權並不稀奇。但是在臺灣，發生這種事似乎一點可能性也沒有，也不可能擁有私人的置物空間。在美國，從學校畢業之前都會有個畢業舞會。保羅在講關於畢業舞會時，神色顯得非常開心，可見舞會對美國人來說是多麼難忘的經驗。不過我對於舞會並沒有太大的興趣，一方面可能是性格使然，我在熱鬧的場合比較放不開，另一方面是我根本不會跳舞。在生活機能方面，美國有許多地方的便利超商都沒有臺灣方便。以7-11來說，雖然是由美國傳入臺灣，但是連保羅也不得不承認，臺灣7-11有的東西比美國的7-11有的多太多了，而密集度也使老美們難望其項背。從小自臺灣長大，對於周遭這些事物早已沒什麼感覺，但是在保羅的講解後，才發現，臺灣果真是個「美麗的島」。
Marked Difference Between American and Taiwanese
At the beginning of eighth grade , Julie, the girl who is my classmate went to America. We still get some conversations on Line when she got in America .I asked her a lot of questions about her school and how do American treat her. Fortunately, we had a lecture for American culture after a few weeks Julie went to America. Paul, who is an American, showed us American culture by several photos and pictures. I was interested in every students in America can have their own “lockers”, and students can choose which subject they want to learn first. It is possible in America, but in Taiwan, it is impossible. In America, there will be a prom before you graduate. While Paul was talking about his prom ,he seemed really joyful. One can see that the prom is an unforgettable experience for American. Nevertheless I was not really interested in the prom. It is just not my style. At the side of living environment, Paul had no choice but admitted there are more 7-11 in Taiwan. I suddenly realized, Taiwan is really a “Formosa”.
